	As a direct result of the weather conditions and by public demand, Richard Mallett, Field Officer for London and the South East, and Nick Keane, Knowledge Manager, were able to work their magic and create the ‘Southern Region Citizen Focus Police Forum’ on the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) Communities of Practice Website. This will allow Citizen Focus and Neighbourhood Policing Project Managers and associated members in the South West Region to discuss important Citizen Focus and Neighbourhood Policing issues without the necessity for a meeting on every occasion. Although face to face meetings are very important, I would commend the ‘Southern Region Citizen Focus Police Forum’ to you as another important tool in your communications toolkit. It is hoped that as this Community of Practice is developed it will be transferred to the Police Online Knowledge Area (POLKA) for further enhancement and development. The next Regional Project Managers Meeting, which unfortunately had to be postponed due to the severe weather, has now been rescheduled for Tuesday, 2nd February 2010 and I look forward to meeting all those who attend. As I write this, the weather forecast is for more snow, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that there won’t be too much more disruption.
