Happy New Year! This month I will provide a few updates from the Central Region.
Firstly, congratulations to GMP for achieving their Contact Centre Association (CCA) Global Contact Centre Accreditation standard. They are the first Force in the UK to receive this. I will feature this more fully in either the February or March edition.
Merseyside have received several positive enquiries regarding their marketing campaign, ‘It All Adds Up!’ as profiled in the November 2009 newsletter. In fact, there has been so much interest that they plan to run a workshop in March to share this effective practice.
Elsewhere in the region, Cheshire Constabulary's multi-media team is currently working on a series of videos that will give the public a greater insight into the work being done to keep the county's residents safe and feeling safe. The videos will be a key part of the force's new website, which will be launched in spring 2010. In the meantime, you can view the latest videos on their YouTube channel.
Another congratulations to Warwickshire who saw ‘violent crime resulting in injury’ drop by 23% in the 12 months to the end of September 2009 with 2,682 incidents being reported to Warwickshire Police, 802 fewer than the same period the previous year. The drop is the greatest decrease recorded by any police force in the country and is compared to a national average decrease of violent crime of 4%.
