The benefits of community engagement can sometimes be hidden, or be regarded as self-evident. Evaluation can help to demonstrate the benefits of engagement in a clear and credible way. This can help persuade senior managers and budget holders to support or sustain community engagement activities. It can also provide evidence which can feed into performance review or assessment processes.
